Canterbury’s asbestos surveying experts

Is asbestos a risk on your building site? If you’re renovating or demolishing a home, structure or plant, built before 2000, you need to know.

When there are over 3000 types of building materials that could potentially contain asbestos, choose an experienced asbestos surveyor to keep your site safe and your project moving forward.

Qualified and experienced Asbestos Surveyors

Is asbestos hiding beneath the surface on your construction site? Before choosing an asbestos surveyor, you must ask if they are qualified and if they are experienced with your kind of project.

Our team at MBC Environmental Solutions are qualified asbestos surveyors. We hold the IP402 (Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings) accreditation, so we can competently carry out the work.

Why is the right kind of experience important? Because we have completed hundreds and hundreds of asbestos surveys across residential, commercial, and public sector buildings, we know what to look for. Just because you’ve surveyed a few houses for asbestos, doesn’t mean you’re the right person to survey a multi-story commercial building. The team at MBC Environmental Solutions have the experience required for your project.

Our many years of asbestos surveying experience means you’ll have a more accurate picture of the likelihood that there is asbestos on your site and exactly where it is. A more accurate asbestos survey means you can better plan your renovation or demolition project, and you’re much less likely to have ‘unwelcome surprises’ and unexpected delays along the way.

Fewer delays means completing your project on time and within budget, so everyone wins.

The right asbestos survey for you

If there is a risk of asbestos on your site, you’re legally required to carry out an assessment. But what do you need?

Sampling surveys

Concerned about a particular material and want to know if it contains asbestos? Maybe it’s the degraded cladding on your garage, the cracked textured ceiling, or the old vinyl that is peeling up. Our team can visit your site to collect a sample or one or more materials, then organise for prompt analysis at an IANZ accredited laboratory, providing you with peace of mind and the ability to plan accordingly.

Asbestos Management Surveys

A non intrusive and non invasive assessment of the likelihood of there being asbestos on the site. All businesses should have an asbestos management plan, if there is the possibility of asbestos being present. Our team can carry out a visual inspection and can help you create a plan.

Asbestos Refurbishment Surveys

We’ll inspect the building materials only in the areas where work is being carried out. A more invasive process, we may take samples away for testing to confirm the presence of asbestos. Because we know exactly what to look for, we may be able to visually confirm asbestos in a sample on-site, saving you time and money. You’ll receive a report, outlining the location, quantity and condition of any asbestos present, including photos and map, helping you to plan your project effectively.

Asbestos Demolition Surveys

You cannot demolish a building if it contains asbestos. If it’s not contained, there’s a risk the asbestos could spread and contaminate a wider area. A demolition asbestos survey is a thorough inspection of the entire site, with a number of invasive inspections, that will allow your asbestos removalist to come up with a comprehensive removal plan. We know what a good demolition survey report looks like and we avoid the ambiguities you’ll find in many other reports.

Quality asbestos surveys and removals

Why choose MBC Environmental Solutions to be your asbestos surveyor and asbestos removalist?

Accurate asbestos surveys

Having surveyed and removed asbestos from hundreds and hundreds of businesses, schools and homes around Canterbury, we know exactly what to look for. A more accurate asbestos survey means you can budget and account for all removal costs, minimising project delays and the need for variations.

Streamlined asbestos removal

Most of the time, as we are carrying out an asbestos survey, we already know how we would safely remove it. This streamlines the process and keeps your project moving. There’s no handover process or coordination needed on your end from the surveyor to the removalist. The information and expertise flows within our team, without delaying your project.
