Mark and his team at MBC have been amazing and we couldn’t have asked for more. After purchasing a townhouse with a decramastic roof, three storeys up, with a steep pitch and difficult access, we found the roof contained asbestos and needed to be replaced. This was not an easy task and was very daunting to new renovators. Mark walked us through every step of the process, going above and beyond to explain and clarify. The results were amazing and they were accommodating around everyone else involved too. Couldn’t recommend anyone better than the MBC team. It’s great to know the asbestos has been removed safely, giving peace of mind.

Mark and his team at MBC have played a key role in the hospital’s major redevelopment after the earthquakes. Numerous buildings had to be responsibly demolished amongst a working hospital over many years. We found MBC to be a very competent organisation for the identification and effective management of hazardous building materials leading into the demolitions. Proactive, strong communicators, and nothing is ever a problem outlook. I enjoy working with them.

Dealing with ACM in a school environment can be a difficult proposition as we want to keep all members of the school community safe. Mark and his team have been involved in the demolition and refurbishment of a number of projects. Mark and Felicity are a pleasure to work with. They managed the removal of asbestos from two of our older buildings first built in the 1970s. It was a substantial project throughout 5000 sq metres of six-storey buildings and had some uniquely tricky challenges. They came up with good removal methodologies, were excellent communicators and did a great job and all within the allocated time frame. MBC is on our panel of approved removalists and for good reason.

Very thorough. We had MBC remove asbestos from existing structures and remediate soils and do survey work in preparation of building new structures. This was a large project at Christchurch Boys High School. MBC have all their boxes ticked which is solid in a rigorous industry like theirs.

We were preparing to rebuild the historic Risingholme Homestead in Opawa when an arson attack in 2016 revealed extensive black mould throughout the roof and ceiling cavity. We had Mark and MBC come in and totally remove all of that. It was a massive 3-month undertaking and they did it well. They also helped with asbestos testing and removal from the Risingholme Hall.

MBC was recommended to us and they’ve been awesome. One phone call and they get it sorted. We’re residential builders so we need building site compliance and sediment control works and Mark and MBC have been really good at ensuring all that for us. And anything to do with asbestos.

We property manage 280 odd buildings for the Anglican diocese across half the South Island, both commercial and residential. If we suspected asbestos in any of them, Mark and MBC would test and report to us and remove it. I found them very good. Detailed reports and recommendations, very easy to deal with. Nothing was an issue and I have no problem recommending them.

We had asbestos contamination as a result of defective EQC repairs. It was due to failure to perform a controlled removal from our roofing cavities and stippled ceilings. It got everywhere and made the place more hazardous than it had been. We had a claim against EQC and we engaged Mark at MBC to test, identify and quantify the contamination and provide scientific evidence of its cause and effect. Mark’s expert witness evidence was really key to the negotiation process and I think they found him credible and reasonable. We had a confidential settlement agreed shortly after.

Mark and MBC tested and identified asbestos within the flooring of our house and had it removed. They had samples tested within 24 hours and five days later their crew had it removed within three days. We’re very happy with their work. They took care of all paperwork and had an independent assessor sign off on the project. Yes, I really would recommend.

My experience with MBC is very positive. They’re very reliable and excellent at all their compliances and health & safety processes. Which is very helpful for busy construction firms. They helped us with some asbestos removal from old schools and some specialist mould removal work.

My experience with them? Absolutely professional. Good service, they know what they are doing. They’ve done a lot of sediment control plans for us, primarily for residential subdivisions. We need to provide erosion and sediment control plans to councils and MBC are instrumental in providing the design and paperwork for that. They also help us with asbestos testing and removal.
