Canterbury Museum mould eradication
MBC provided expert assistance following the malfunction of a heat pump in a storage area, which created a tropical environment, perfect for rapid mould growth.
The first task involved a rapid assessment and a make safe, ensuring the safety of staff and the preservation of materials. This was followed by a more detailed assessment, including air and surface testing, to establish the type and extent of the toxigenic mould infestation.
Once the scope of works had been established, a detailed remediation plan was developed. Remediation was conducted over several stages, to remove all toxigenic mould present. This involved working in restricted areas of the museum and around highly important collections. The work was conducted in a meticulous and thorough manner, ensuring that all client requirements were adhered to.
MBC worked closely with the client, conservation experts and other specialists in the toxigenic mould field to ensure an excellent outcome for the client.
